[JLPGA] Game Result : JLPGA Ai Miyazato Suntory Ladies Open Golf Tournament (8th June – 11th June)

The JLPGA Ai Miyazato Suntory Ladies Open Golf Tournament, was held at Rokko Kokusai Golf Club (6,513 yards/par 72) in Hyogo.

Chisato Iwai, who started the final day in the lead, won with a total of 23 under par. It was her second win of the season and her fourth win on the tour. Jiyai Shin and Miyu Yamashita are tied for second place at 18-under, five stroke behind. Ayako Kimura and Shina Kanazawa tied for fourth place at 14-under.

Chisato Iwai won her second victory of the season by five strokes over second place with a wire-to-wire win that kept her in the lead from the first day. However, it was by no means an easy victory. At one point, she was six strokes difference of second place, but by the time Jiyai made birdie on the 11th, a par 3, she was down by one stroke. Jiyai, who has pulled off major upsets many times in the past, would have caught up to the leader and possibly even reversed the result. However, Iwai concentrated on playing her own golf and did not allow the upset to happen.

Aggressive golf, aggressively aiming for the pin. That is Iwai's golf style. She quickly made a birdie at the par-5 12th hole with her third shot 2.5 meters by the pin. Then, at the par-4 14th, she made a birdie with her second shot 50 centimeters by the pin. Also, at the par-3 16th hole, she swinged a half-shot with a 6-iron, 150 yards from the pin, to 2 meters for birdie. Jiyai's bogey on this hole gave her a five-stroke lead, and she was confident of winning the tournament.
