The Mitsubishi Electric Ladies Golf Hisako Higuchi was held at the Musashigaoka Golf Club (6,650 yards / par 72) in Hanno, Saitama.
Kumiko Kaneda, nicknamed "Kinkumi" after starting at the top of the leaderboard, won the tournament with a 9-under total. It was the longest blank win since the Tour system went into effect in 1988. It was her second win in 11 years and 189 days after her first win. Haruka Kawasaki was second place with 2 stroke behind at 7-under total. Also, defending champion Hinoko Shibuno, from the USLPGA Tour, 4-under 68 stroke in the final day to move from a tie for 28th to a tie for 8th.
At the end of the day, Haruka Kawasaki, who was aiming for her consecutive win from last week, was within one stroke for leader. However, Kumiko Kaneda made her second shot at the 17th hole, 160 yards to go 1 meter to the pin, with a 7I. It was the shot that ultimately decided for the winner. Haruka Kawasaki, said, "But, she (Kumiko Kaneda) was very strong right to the end, and on the 17th hole, she made a 'finishing stroke' shot. Toward the end, I could feel the strength spirit."
The longest blank win was a match that impressed many Japanese.
