The JGTO JAPAN PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP by Sato Foods was held at Nishi Nasuno Country Club (7,036 yards/par 72) in Tochigi.

Hideto Tanihara, who started tie for 3rd place two strokes behind, finished a "66". He won Taiga Nagano, who was tied for 24 under par, in a playoff to take his first win of the season and his 18th win on tour. Keita Nakajima, Tomoharu Otsuki, and Yuta Uetake tied for third at 22-under, Riki Kawamoto tied for sixth at 21-under, and Taihei Sato and Taisei Shimizu tied for seventh at 20-under. Last year's champion Yuki Inamori tied for 10th at 18-under, Taiga Semikawa tied for 22nd at 16-under, and Ryo Ishikawa 64 strokes to finish the four-day event tied for 26th at 15-under.

Tanihara tied for the lead with three consecutive birdies from the 2nd hole. On the back nine, he made his seventh birdie of the day on the par-5 16th hole to move to 24-under for the day. He caught up to Nagano, who was leading at that point. It is the fifth time for playoff for Tanihara. He then showed the difference in experience between him and Nagano, who was playing for the first time in a playoff.

The first hole of the playoff. Nagano's tee shot went to the trees on the right side. Tanihara, however, made a steady tee shot to the fairway. Nagano's second shot was only able to escape from the trees, and he hit his third shot from near Tanihara's second. However, Nagano could not make the first putt and made a bogey. Tanihara then made par for the win.
