The Panasonic Open Golf Championship was held at the “Ono Toyo Golf Club” (7,113 yards / par 72) in Ono, Hyogo.
Amateur Taiga Semikawa (4th year student at Tohoku Fukushi University), who started the tournament tied for the lead, carded 8 birdies and 2 bogeys, including 5 in a row in the back nine, for a "66", bringing his total to 22 under par and becoming the 6th amateur winner in the tour history, following Keita Nakajima in the previous year's tournament.
Semikawa also won as an amateur at the ABEMA Tour "Japan Create Challenge in Fukuoka Raizan" in June this year, making him the first amateur in history to win both the regular and lower tours.
In the first time in three years that the event was held with a paying audience. He recorded an impressive 17 under par on only "the third day when he made a new tournament record of 61" and "final day".
