[JLPGA] Game Result : JLPGA STANLEY LADIES HONDA GOLF TOURNAMENT (6th – 8th Oct)

The JLPGA STANLEY LADIES HONDA GOLF TOURNAMENT was held at Tomei Country Club (6,590 yards/par 72) in Shizuoka.

Haruka Morita, who started the final day tied for the lead, no bogey, two-birdie "70" to win the tournament with a 13-under total. This was her second win in total since the 2017 Hokkaido Meiji Cup. She has played in 22 tournaments so far this season but failed to qualify in 12 of them. And the previous week, she finished 5th at the "Japan Women's Open," her first top-10 finish. Yuka Yasuda was 2nd at 11-under total. Mayu Hamada and Asuka Kashiwabara finished at 10-under 3, followed by Jiyai Shin (Korea) who is ranked No. 1 in the Mercedes ranking, Yuri Yoshida, Serena Aoki, Ai Suzuki, and Hikaru Yoshimoto, at 9-under 5 overall. The previous year's champion, Sakura Koiwai, who tied for the lead, finished a "75" in 10th place at 8-under par.

She started the final day in the lead along with Sakura Koiwai. She made a 10-meter birdie putt at the 2nd hole to take the early lead. At the 5th hole, she shot the remaining 136 yards with a 9I and placed it 3m to the right of the pin. She then made birdie, but after that, she could not reduce her score and continued to make pars. She kept on persevering and on the 17th, her tee shot flew to the right, but hit a tree and returned to the fairway. For her, it was a big stroke of luck. And she won the tournament, keeping a two-stroke lead over the rest of the field.
