[JLPGA] Game Result : CAT Ladies 2022

The CAT Ladies 2022 was held at the Daihakone Country Club (6,638 yards / par 72) in Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa. The "CAT Ladies," now in it is 25th year, is a summer tradition in Hakone, and this year's event was once again a heated competition.

Chihiro Iwai, who started at the top of the leaderboard, won with a 13 under par total. She became only the third player in history to win two weeks in a row after winning her first tournament. One stroke behind in 2nd place with 12 under par total was Miyu Yamashita, who make a 64 stroke on Sunday Charge. Tied for 3rd at 10 under par were Rio Takeda and Minami Katsu.

Chihiro Iwai was tied for the lead with Miyu Yamashita. She went all in on the 17th par 3 hole. She said, "If I have a one stroke lead in this hole, I can win. Don't be scared, just swing the club all the way," she told herself. She added about her strategy, "The wind was against the wind from the left. It is ok the ball will ride the wind and let it drift a little to the right. So, I shot a high ball." As a result, her ball was dropped at 4 meters from the pin. Then, she calmly aimed for the cup and headed to the 18th hole for birdie.

On the 18th hole, she made Green In Regulation, but 12 meters is not a safety. Naturally, the pressure was on, but she kept par. She won for the second week in a row.
