[JGTO] Game Result : JGTO FUJISANKEI CLASSIC (31th Aug – 3rd Sep)

The JGTO FUJISANKEI CLASSIC was held at Fujizakura Country Club (7,424 yards/par 70) in Yamanashi.

Takumi Kanaya, who started in the lead on the final day, finished with four birdies and one bogey for a 67, four strokes behind of second place at 8-under for his fifth win on the Tour since the BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori-Building Cup in June. Naoyuki Kataoka was second at 4-under, followed by Taichi Nabetani at 3-under. Keita Nakajima finished with "69" in fourth place at 2-under with Shugo Imahira, while Ryo Ishikawa finished with "76" in fifth place at 3-under. The previous year's champion, Kaito Onishi, finished the tournament in 61st place at 18-over.

Kanaya made a birdie putt of about 3 meters on the par-5 6th hole for his first birdie and then succeeded in 2 on the par-5 8th hole. But he carried the ball next to the pin for the long eagle putt in spectacular fashion and birdied the hole. He proceeded to the back nine by 3 after the front nine holes without a bogey. Kataoka made a birdie at the 10th hole and cut the gap to 2, but Kanaya widened it again with a birdie at the next 11th hole.
On the final hole, four shots back of second place, he made a three-meter putt, but it wasn't easy. However, he made the par putt so easily that the audience was quiet.
