[JLPGA] Game Result : NEC Karuizawa 72 Golf Tournament

The NEC Karuizawa 72 Golf Tournament, the 23rd round of the JLPGA Tour 2022 season, was held at Karuizawa 72 Golf North Course (6679 yards/par 72) in Karuizawa, Nagano.

Chisato Iwai won the tournament for the first time with a 13 under par total. After starting the day tied for the lead, she made 69 strokes with 5 birdies and 2 bogeys. At the same time, she became the first twin professional in history to win the first Victory. At 12 under par, 1 stroke back, tied for 2nd place were Nozomi Uetake, Minami Katsu, Yuri Yoshida, Kotone Hori, Hikaru Yoshimoto, and Eri Okayama.

Iwai, who improved her score by one in the first nine, made three birdies in the first four holes from the 10th hole on the back nine. With this, she quickly rose to the top of the leaderboard and headed to the 18th green with a two strokes lead.

When she made the winning putt, tears streamed down her face. She responded to the cheers of the gallery by raising both hands in the air, and shared the joy of victory with her twin sister Akie, who was watching from the greenside, with a hug.

In her victory interview, she smiled bitterly at her bogey and said, "I wanted to keep two-putt the last hole, but I was so nervous that I missed it...." Still, she immediately showed a big smile, and said, "I was so happy at the moment of victory."
