DAITO KENTAKU eheyanet ladies, was held at THE QUEEN’S HILL GOLF CLUB (6,540 yards/par 72) in Fukuoka
Mio Kotaki, who started from the top of the leaderboard, won her first Tour event with an 18-under total. She started Sunday's back nine with the same score as Yuri Yoshida, who is also in the final group, and Sakura Koiwai, who plays three groups in front of her. However, Kotaki made five consecutive birdies from the 12th (par 3), and although she made a bogey at the final 18th, she holed out with a "66" including seven birdies to win her first title of the year at 18-under total. Mio Kotaki became the 13th member of the Golden Generation (*) to win a Tour title, and her 42nd win in total.
*Golden Generation: JLPGA professional golfers born in 1998 (April 1998-March 1999).
Koiwai joined the championship contenders with a total of "64" on the final day. But she finished in second place, two strokes back of Yoshida, and was not able to win for the second consecutive tournament. Akie Iwai was in fourth place at 15-under. Miyu Yamashita, Yuka Nii, and Hana Lee (KOR) were in fifth place at 14-under. Yui Kawamoto, a recommended entrant, finished 13-under 8th, her first top-10 finish of the season.
She made 5 birdies in a row starting from the 12th hole. At the par-3 12th, her 7I shot flew toward the pin and landed 1 meter for an easy birdie. On the following 13th, she chipped in from the bunker on the right with a 52-degree shot from 30 yards out. This was a good rhythm for her. She made five birdies in a row for the first time since passing the final professional test.
